In the year of our Lord 2021-2022 the Order of Preachers, together with all the members of the Dominican Family, shall commemorate the 800th Jubilee of the birth to eternal life DEIS NATALIS of our Father St. Dominic de Caleruega. The following dates are highpoint of the celebration. January 6 Opening of the Jubilee Year May 24 Translation of St. Dominic August 4 Solemnity of St. Dominic January 6, 2022 Closing of the Jubilee Year AT THE TABLE WITH SAN DOMENICO The theme of the celebration of the Jubilee is A table with St. Dominic , which is inspired by the table of Mascarella, the table on which the first portrait of St. Dominic was painted shortly after his canonization. In this way we will celebrate St. Dominic not only as a saint on a pedestal , but as a saint enjoying the communion of a meal with his brothers , gathered by the same vocation to preach the Word of God and to share food and drink , a gift from God. The celebration of our Jubilee invites us to reflect on these questions:

西元2021-2022 道明會,和所有的道明之家成員將要紀念會祖聖道明進入永恆生命-永福生命誕生800周年禧年紀念。以下是所有慶典的高潮慶日: 1/6 禧年開幕誌慶 5/24 聖道明會祖聖髑遷移紀念 8/4 聖道明瞻禮 1/6/2022 禧年閉幕 與聖道明同桌共融 禧年慶祝的主題是與聖道明同桌共融,因著馬斯卡拉桌子的靈感啟發。這是在聖道明被祝聖成聖人後,第一次繪畫聖道明的畫像。如此,我們不但要慶祝聖人榮登聖人的寶座,也要慶祝聖道明因為天主的禮物-宣講天主聖言的共同聖召而聚集在一起,分享飲食,並享受與他的弟兄姊妹們同桌共融。禧年的慶祝邀請我們去反思下面這些問題: 1. 與聖道明同桌共融,對於我們此時此地有什麼意義? The Mascarella Table
馬斯卡拉桌子
The "Tavola della Mascarella" is so called because it has always been kept in the Bolognese Church of Santa Maria della Mascarella, which was the first place where Saint Dominic and his companions lived for a few months, who arrived in Bologna in the winter of 1218. The table it was painted in tempera on a panel of 43 × 572 cm, shortly after the canonization of Domenico (July 1234) and, according to our current knowledge, it is the oldest representation of the Saint and his friars.
It was painted by a master from Northern Italy around the years 1235-1240. It depicts in the center, St. Dominic with a halo, flanked by a succession of niches with pairs of preaching friars (24: 12 + 12), all seated at the table full of bread. The friars, in the depiction of the faces made by the anonymous painter, seem to come from various parts of Europe: perhaps the painter will have seen them on the occasion of a General Chapter (at that time the General Chapters of the Order were held alternately in Bologna and Paris). The meaning of the painting is inspired by what is stated in the Prologue of the Legend by Pietro Ferrandi (inspired by the Bull of canonization of the Saint): "Once upon a time God, inviting his elect to an eternal banquet in various places and in many ways, in the last days , or in the eleventh hour, he sent his servant to tell the guests that they would arrive, since everything was ready by now. In the interpretation of St. Gregory the Great, this servant is an Order of preachers, which must be sent, in the last times, to warn the souls of men of the imminent advent of the Judge. Scripture, in fact, foretold that there would be a new Order of preachers, and made it clear that it should be sent to the end of the world, stating, "He sent his servant at supper time." Dinner time is the end of the world, we are the ones for whom the end times have come. A new Order was therefore sent at supper time, that is, in the last days. [...] These are the Preachers: divine Providence has foreseen their Order for the dangers of these last times, so that, while the judgment of the one for whom, in humiliation, the judgment has been denied, approaches, the number of witnesses increase ".
